Succession is a satirical black comedy—both hilarious and chilling—filled with complex family dynamics. It follows the Roy family, owners of Waystar RoyCo, an incredibly successful multinational media empire. The Roy family consists of Logan Roy, founder, and CEO; his children Kendall, Roman, and Shiv; older outsider son Connor; their spouses; nephew Greg, extended family members, and significate corporate players. Of course, Succession isn't just a simple tale of a family-owned media empire. As we have seen countless times with family businesses, the power transfer to the next generation can be complex and filled with intrigue. Will the next generation of the Roy family be able to look past their greed and jealousy? Clearly, proper succession and governance planning is required! If Succession's captivating storyline has yet to convince you to binge watch seasons 1–3 in time for Sunday's next installment of the fourth and final season, then an awareness of Succession's many accomplishments and cultural influence will likely do so.
